Out of the Blue is a 1980 film featuring and directed by Dennis Hopper. The film was written and produced by Gary Jules Jouvenat. It competed for the Palme d'Or at the 1980 Cannes Film Festival. Film Critic Jonathan Rosenbaum considers it one of the 15 best films of the 1980s. It centers on a rebellious young girl (Linda Manz) interested in Elvis Presley and punk rock music, her ex-convict, truck driver father (Dennis Hopper), and her high-strung mother (Sharon Farrell). The title is taken from the Neil Young song "My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)". The original version of "Out of the Blue" was banned in the UK, but was aired in full on UK TV Channel 4 in a series of banned movies on January 10, 1987. The available formats of this film are all the legal edited versions. The track Kill All Hippies, from British Rock band Primal Scream's 2000 album XTRMNTR is named after a piece of Manz' dialogue in the movie and features a sample.
Out of the Blue (No looking back), conocida en español como Caído del cielo pero también como Sin nada que perder[1] o Fuera de control[2] es una película dirigida en 1980 por Dennis Hopper, que también interpreta uno de los personajes principales. Aunque fue nominada para el festival de Cannes y el crítico Jonathan Rosenbaum la consideró una de las 15 mejores películas de los años 80, fracasó en taquilla. Retrata a una adolescente punk (interpretada por Linda Manz), hija de dos personas a la deriva (Dennis Hopper y Sharon Farrell). El padre, según Dennis Hopper, "es en lo que se habría convertido el personaje de Easy Rider 10 años más tarde". El título viene de la canción "My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)", de Neil Young. Out of the Blue estuvo prohibida en el Reino Unido hasta 1987.
